Exterior Wall Panels

Lightweight. Fire-Resistant. Thermally Efficient. Built to Last.

Caldera Autoclaved Lightweight Concrete (ALC) Exterior Wall Panels deliver high structural performance, superior thermal and acoustic insulation, and multi-hour fire protection—all in a lightweight, prefabricated system that simplifies construction and reduces overall project costs. Ideal for residential, commercial, and institutional envelopes, our panels are engineered to perform in Canada’s demanding climates.

Exterior wall panels are the backbone of any building envelope. Caldera Panels are factory-produced to precise dimensions using a proven mix of quartz sand, cement, lime, and aluminum paste, reinforced with anti-corrosion steel mesh, and cured under high-temperature steam autoclaving.

The result is a high-strength, lightweight panel with exceptional energy performance, long service life, and simplified installation. By integrating structure, insulation, fire protection, and acoustic control into a single component, Caldera Exterior Wall Panels outperform traditional concrete or masonry walls in nearly every category

Lightweight Strength

  • Density: 600–700 kg/m³ — approx. ¼ the weight of conventional concrete.

  • Compressive strength: > 5.5 MPa, with excellent ductility and seismic performance.

  • Reduces foundation loads and structural requirements, allowing for more design flexibility.

Superior Thermal Performance

  • Thermal conductivity: 0.11 W/m·K, translating to R 0.95–1.25 per inch.

  • Thermal mass effect stabilizes indoor temperatures, improving energy efficiency year-round.

  • Meets and exceeds Canadian energy code requirements for exterior walls.

Proven Fire Resistance

  • Fire rating: Up to 4 hours without structural failure.

  • Non-combustible and emits no toxic gases at high temperatures.

  • Ideal for firewalls, multi-storey buildings, and critical envelope assemblies.

Acoustic Comfort

  • Reduces airborne noise transmission by 30–50 dB, depending on thickness.

  • Perfect for urban, multi-family, and commercial environments where sound control matters.

Long-Term Durability

  • Made from silicate materials with no corrosion, rot, or aging issues.

  • Resistant to weathering, pests, and freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Expected service life matches or exceeds that of conventional concrete structures.

Sustainable Construction

  • Recognized as a new wall material by municipal authorities.

  • Lower embodied carbon compared to traditional systems.

  • Compatible with green building standards (e.g., Step Code, LEED)

Applications

Residential Buildings — Single-family homes, townhouses, and low-rise envelopes.

Mid- to High-Rise Buildings — Structural envelopes with superior fire & thermal performance.

Commercial & Institutional — Schools, hospitals, offices, and retail structures.

Industrial Facilities — Fire-rated walls with acoustic separation.

Retrofits & Re-Cladding — Lightweight replacement for aging masonry or concrete façades.

Installation & Integration

Exterior wall panels are installed using hook head bolts, angle steel, and standard façade fixing methods. Panels can be mounted to steel or concrete framing, with exterior finishes such as stucco, rainscreen systems, or cladding applied over the panel face.

Factory precision means panels arrive ready to install with minimal on-site cutting. This reduces trades, improves schedule certainty, and ensures airtight, watertight performance.

How We Work

The Journey of Your Project with Caldera Panels

From concept to completion, Caldera supports every stage of your build. Our team works closely with architects, builders, and developers to ensure your project runs smoothly, on time, and to the highest performance standards.

Planning & Design

Planning & Design

Every successful project starts with thoughtful planning. In this phase, we collaborate with your design team to align project goals, select the appropriate ALC panel systems, and integrate them into your architectural plans and structural layouts. We provide detailed R/RSI values, fire ratings, and span data, making it easy to incorporate Exterior Wall Panels , Floor & Roof Panels, or other systems into your design early on.

Permitting & Approvals

Permitting & Approvals

Our products are backed by internationally recognized testing (ASTM, CAN/ULC) and municipal certifications, simplifying code compliance and energy modeling. We supply the technical documents and data sheets needed for energy, fire, and structural approvals, helping you fast-track local permitting and meet Step Code or LEED goals.

Site Preparation & Clearing

Site Preparation & Clearing

Before installation begins, our team coordinates delivery schedules and panel staging to match your construction timeline. Because Caldera Panels are prefabricated and lightweight, site preparation is cleaner and faster—reducing on-site masonry, wet trades, and waste.

Foundation & Structural Integration

Foundation & Structural Integration

Once foundations are in place, panel installation begins. Our mechanical lifting methods, standardized hook bolt and angle steel systems, and precision-cut panels allow faster assembly with fewer trades. Whether you’re installing Wall Panels or Roof & Floor Panels , our team ensures proper alignment, sealing, and integration with your structural framing.

Installation Support & Training

Installation Support & Training

We don’t just ship panels — we stay involved. Caldera provides on-site training, installation manuals, and direct support to contractors and installers, ensuring correct handling, joint sealing, and finishing for long-lasting performance.
